SISTER ACT | 2013 (click to expand project)
In the spirit of our ongoing collaboration, Charlotte Potter and I created sets and costumes for "Sister Act" - a performance at the Chrysler Museum in Norfolk, Virginia. In the performance, Charlotte executed glass performances built around the lyrics for six of her sister Grace's songs, which Grace played live on an upright piano.
For this project, Charlotte and I referenced ideas from the history of the circus. My contributions to the environment recalled my interest in carnivals, harlequins, color and pattern.
The emcee for the evening was The wonderful Great Fredini of Coney Island Burlesque fame, and the great Grace Potter performed alongside members of the glass studio staff.
More information on the performance is at Charlotte's Website
