For five years, on my walk to the studio, I picked up one object from the ground and added it to an ever-growing beaded string of similar totems. The rules of the game developed organically over the course of the project, and provided controls for the exercise (only one object per day, no switching, look for patterns, break patterns). The project followed me to five different studios in different cities and countries, and the joy in creating this time-based work informed and inspired my current walking projects. When exhibited, it is installed collaboratively with the curators, as a drawing in space.
